Our next conference will be held at Newcastle University on Thursday 29th and Friday 30th July 2021. Our proposal was to hold this in April 2020, but that was not possible due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are delighted to be returning to the North East (following recent conferences in the North West, East Midlands and South East) and to once again be working with Dr Martin Farr.

Our keynote speaker is Lord Parkinson of Whitley Bay, a former Political Secretary to the Prime Minister (2016-19) and the convenor of the Conservative History Group.

Registration and Programme

You can register to attend the conference here.

Details of the final programme will be available in due course.

Hotel and Conference Dinner

We have partnered with the Cairn Hotel (97-103 Osborne Road, Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne NE2 2TJ) to offer delegates a heavily discounted room, with breakfast included. A unique conference booking code will be sent out upon registration.

The hotel is a 30 minute walk from campus or two stops on the Tyne and Wear Metro.

The conference dinner, held on the evening of Thursday 29th, will be in a restaurant next to the hotel.

The Thatcher Network is a not-for-profit organisation and any funds raised will be to cover the cost of the conference.
